Delta Air Lines Inaugurates Nonstop Service from Los Angeles to Brisbane

Delta Air Lines has launched its inaugural nonstop flight between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Brisbane Airport (BNE), marking a significant expansion in the carrier’s South Pacific network. The new route, operated by an Airbus A350-900, offers passengers enhanced connectivity between the United States and Australia.

The Los Angeles to Brisbane service operates three times weekly, with the following schedule:

  • Flight DL93: Departs Los Angeles at 11:10 PM, arriving in Brisbane at 7:45 AM two days later.
  • Flight DL92: Departs Brisbane at 10:45 AM, arriving in Los Angeles at 6:15 AM the same day.

The Airbus A350-900 aircraft features a four-class configuration, including Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin, accommodating a total of 306 passengers.

Strategic Significance

Brisbane becomes Delta’s second Australian destination, complementing its existing daily services to Sydney. This expansion enhances Delta’s presence in the South Pacific, providing passengers with increased travel options and access to over 40 U.S. cities through convenient one-stop connections.

Economic and Tourism Impact

The new route is expected to boost tourism and trade between Queensland and the United States. Brisbane Airport Corporation’s CEO, Gert-Jan de Graaff, highlighted that Delta’s commitment is poised to invigorate Queensland’s tourism and export sectors, with projections of up to 114,000 additional visitors over the next three years.

To celebrate the inaugural flight, Delta offered passengers a unique experience featuring Australian-themed amenities, including iconic treats such as Vegemite, Tim Tams, and Anzac biscuits.
