AI-Assisted Content Policy
Where AI is used at FlyMag
FlyMag uses AI tools selectively and transparently. This page documents where and how.
News articles
News articles are written by human authors. If AI is used for research or drafting assistance in an individual story, it is disclosed in that story.
Travel Concierge
Our Travel Concierge feature generates personalized trip itineraries using OpenAI’s GPT-4.1 model with live web search. These itineraries are:
- Labeled as AI-generated
- Marked
noindexso they don’t appear in Google Search - Grounded in structured data (real airport codes, real weather, real airline references)
- Not sold or presented as booked travel
Auto-generated directory content
Some sections of airport, airline, and aircraft directory pages contain auto-generated summary text derived from structured data — for example, an airport intro paragraph that composes name, IATA/ICAO, coordinates, route counts, and airline relationships into readable prose. These sections are:
- Derived from data we or our sources have verified
- Deterministic per airport (same input → same output)
- Not intended to replace editorial content
What FlyMag does not do
- We do not use AI to fabricate quotes.
- We do not use AI to invent sources or attribution.
- We do not use AI to generate photorealistic images of real people, aircraft incidents, or airports without clear disclosure.
- We do not publish AI-generated news articles without human editing and byline.
