Avianca Expands Business Class Service to 23 New Routes

Avianca, one of Latin America’s leading carriers, has announced a significant expansion of its business class service across 23 additional routes, set to launch in December 2024. This move is part of the airline’s ongoing efforts to enhance its premium offerings and cater to the growing demand for business and leisure travel in key markets across North and South America.

Expanded Business Class Service

Avianca’s upgraded business class service will now be available on a total of 34 routes, with new offerings including flights between major destinations such as:

  • San Salvador (SAL) to New York (JFK)
  • Medellin (MDE) to Buenos Aires (EZE)
  • Bogota (BOG) to Montreal (YUL)
  • Medellin (MDE) to Lima (LIM)
  • Bogota (BOG) to Panama City (PTY)

This expanded service will also be available on routes operated by a mix of aircraft, including Airbus A320 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner jets, depending on the destination and demand.

Business Class Features

Passengers in Avianca’s business class will benefit from several enhancements, including:

  • Greater recline and additional legroom, ensuring more comfort on long-haul flights.
  • Dedicated charging ports to keep devices powered throughout the journey.
  • Complimentary meals, featuring both regional and international cuisine, tailored to offer a premium dining experience at 35,000 feet.

The Airbus A320, commonly used for shorter to medium-haul flights, will be configured to provide maximum comfort for business travelers. Meanwhile, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, often used on longer routes, will offer a more spacious cabin, quieter ride, and improved fuel efficiency, adding to the overall premium experience.

Strategic Move for Avianca

Avianca’s decision to expand its business class offering is aligned with its broader strategy to attract more business travelers and high-end leisure passengers. As the demand for premium travel continues to grow post-pandemic, Avianca is positioning itself as a key player in connecting North and South America with improved comfort and convenience.

The airline’s CEO noted that this expansion is part of Avianca’s commitment to providing passengers with more choices, stating, “We’re thrilled to offer a better experience to our passengers, especially on routes that connect major business hubs and popular leisure destinations.”

Bottom line

With the launch of business class service on 23 new routes, Avianca is set to provide passengers with a more comfortable and luxurious flying experience across its network. The addition of enhanced features, combined with the spacious configurations of its Airbus A320 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, ensures that both business and leisure travelers can enjoy a premium journey.
