Etihad Airways Expands European Network with New Routes to Dusseldorf and Copenhagen
Etihad Airways has announced a significant expansion of its European network with the introduction of daily flights to Dusseldorf (DUS) in Germany and Copenhagen (CPH) in Denmark, starting in October 2025. These new routes are part of the airline’s ongoing strategy to strengthen its presence in key European markets, offering more travel options between Europe and the Middle East.
New Route Details
Both routes will be serviced by Etihad’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which are known for their fuel efficiency, quieter cabin experience, and advanced passenger comfort features. The Dreamliners are configured with Business and Economy class cabins, providing premium services for long-haul flights.
Flights from Abu Dhabi (AUH) to Dusseldorf and Copenhagen will operate daily, enhancing Etihad’s connectivity in Northern Europe and offering passengers easy access to the UAE’s capital and beyond.
- Abu Dhabi to Dusseldorf: Daily service starting at 10:30 AM (local time).
- Abu Dhabi to Copenhagen: Daily service starting at 11:00 AM (local time).
Meeting Growing Travel Demand
This expansion comes at a time when demand for Middle East-Europe travel is steadily growing, particularly for both leisure and business travelers. Dusseldorf is one of Germany’s most important financial and business centers, while Copenhagen is a major hub for culture and international trade in Scandinavia. These new routes provide more opportunities for passengers to connect across Europe and the Middle East, with smooth transfer options via Etihad’s Abu Dhabi hub.
Etihad’s CEO commented on the expansion, stating: “These new routes mark a milestone in our commitment to enhancing our global network and providing our passengers with more choices and convenient travel options. Dusseldorf and Copenhagen are strategic additions, and we are excited to launch these services next year.”
Bottom line
With the launch of daily flights to Dusseldorf and Copenhagen, Etihad Airways continues to grow its European presence, offering more choices for passengers traveling between Europe and the Middle East. These routes underscore Etihad’s commitment to delivering premium service and connecting key international cities.
