LOT Confirms Summer 2026 Warsaw – San Francisco Service
LOT Polish Airlines will launch 4x weekly summer-seasonal service between Warsaw Chopin (WAW) and San Francisco (SFO) starting May 6, 2026. The 5,867-mile sector will run with two distinct time banks:
-
Thursdays & Sundays
LO35 WAW 11:15 → SFO 13:50
LO36 SFO 15:50 → WAW 12:05 (+1) -
Wednesdays & Saturdays
LO35 WAW 17:40 → SFO 20:15
LO36 SFO 22:15 → WAW 06:30 (+1)
Block times: ~11:35 westbound / ~11:15 eastbound.
Aircraft & Cabins
Flights are slated for LOT’s Boeing 787-8 (252 seats): 18 Business (fully flat, 2-2-2), 21 Premium Economy, 213 Economy. LOT’s long-haul fleet is all-Dreamliner (787-8/-9), so occasional upgauges or swaps are possible.
Network Fit
SFO becomes LOT’s sixth U.S. gateway (joining ORD/LAX/MIA/JFK/EWR) and restores a route first announced for 2020. Summer transatlantic demand plus Star Alliance connectivity via United’s SFO hub should bolster both O&D and east-Europe connections beyond WAW.
Frequency & Seasonality Notes
The service is summer-seasonal with 4x weekly frequencies timed to capture both a midday and late-evening SFO departure bank. Expect schedule fine-tuning as the season approaches.
Bottom Line
LOT is finally bringing Warsaw–San Francisco to life in May 2026, adding a useful west-coast bridge to Eastern Europe with a 787-8 and a 4x weekly pattern. For Bay Area travelers eyeing Poland and beyond, this is a welcome, long-delayed link—better late than never.
