Qatar Airways Expands North American Network with New Route to Toronto
Qatar Airways has announced the addition of a new route to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), set to begin on December 11, 2024. This will be the Doha-based airline’s second destination in Canada, complementing its existing service to Montréal (YUL). The new route is part of Qatar Airways’ continued expansion in North America, providing more options for travelers between Canada and the Middle East.
New Route Details
The new Toronto service will be operated three times per week using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. This aircraft is well-known for its spacious and luxurious cabins, including 42 Qsuite Business Class seats and 312 Economy Class seats. Qatar Airways’ Qsuite is recognized as one of the best business class products in the industry, offering fully lie-flat beds, privacy doors, and the option to convert seats into a shared family or group area.

Flights from Doha (DOH) to Toronto will depart at 9:50 a.m. and arrive in Toronto at 3:55 p.m. local time. The return flight will leave Toronto at 8:00 p.m., landing in Doha the following afternoon at 4:30 p.m., providing convenient connection options for passengers.
Expanding North American Reach
Toronto marks Qatar Airways’ 14th destination in the Americas and continues the airline’s strategy to expand its footprint across North America. CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer commented on the significance of the new route, stating that the addition of Toronto further solidifies Qatar Airways’ reputation as a “reliable global connector” and emphasizes its commitment to maintaining a robust presence in the North American market.
In 2020, Qatar Airways briefly operated repatriation flights to Toronto during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and this new permanent service reflects the airline’s long-term investment in the region.
