Delta Air Lines is doubling down on its Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) presence with the announcement of two new European routes—Barcelona and Rome—as well as the unveiling of a striking dual-lounge experience: a Delta One Lounge and a Delta Sky Club, both housed in a 24,000-square-foot facility inspired by the Pacific Northwest.

Two New Nonstop Europe Flights Coming in 2026

Starting in summer 2026, Delta will launch new nonstop services from Seattle to both Rome and Barcelona. Flights to Rome (FCO) will operate four times per week beginning May 6, 2026, while flights to Barcelona (BCN) will operate three times weekly starting May 7, 2026. Both routes will be operated using Delta’s Airbus A330-900neo aircraft.

Delta’s A330-900neos feature a full complement of premium cabins, including Delta One suites with privacy doors, Delta Premium Select with enhanced legroom and upgraded dining, and standard Main Cabin options. These additions are part of Delta’s ongoing push to elevate its international product offerings from its growing West Coast hub.

Delta One Lounge and Sky Club Open at SEA

Coinciding with the announcement of new international service, Delta has opened its first dual-lounge space at SEA. Located near Gate A11, the 24,000-square-foot complex houses a two-level facility comprised of:

  • Delta One Lounge – An exclusive space for Delta One passengers, offering 149 indoor seats and 72 outdoor terrace seats overlooking Mt. Rainier. Amenities include a full-service bar, fine-dining open kitchen, locally inspired three-course meals, and premium beverage options including sake and West Coast wines.

  • Delta Sky Club – Located directly below, the Sky Club seats 183 guests and serves a rotating seasonal menu including Seattle-sourced dishes such as clam chowder from Ivar’s and marionberry crumble. Starbucks coffee is available, continuing Delta’s partnership with the Seattle-based coffee chain.

Both lounges feature sustainable construction elements including smart windows, all-electric energy systems, and motion-sensitive lighting. Delta emphasizes a Pacific Northwest aesthetic, using local wood, stone accents, and art curated from Washington-based artists.

More Gates, Faster Check-Ins, and Touchless Travel

Delta now has priority access to 18 gates at SEA’s Concourses A and B, part of a broader operational consolidation to streamline connections and improve departure reliability. The airline has also introduced an exclusive Delta One check-in area and is rolling out expedited TSA PreCheck Touchless ID functionality via the Fly Delta app, beginning June 25.

Continued Investment in Seattle

With nearly 180 peak-day departures to over 60 destinations and 28 new markets launched from SEA in the past decade, Delta is Seattle’s largest global carrier. The airline employs 2,700 people across Washington state and maintains long-standing partnerships with local institutions including Starbucks, T-Mobile, the Seattle Seahawks, and the Sounders FC.

Bottom Line

Delta’s dual-pronged announcement of new international routes to Rome and Barcelona and the opening of a landmark lounge experience signals the airline’s commitment to Seattle as a premium international gateway. From upgraded airport experiences to enhanced inflight service aboard next-gen aircraft, Delta is clearly staking its future growth in the Pacific Northwest.
