Seven people were injured when a Buddha Air ATR 72 (registration 9N-AMF) overran the runway while landing at Bhadrapur Airport (BDP) in eastern Nepal on Friday night.
The aircraft, operating Kathmandu–Bhadrapur flight U4 901, overshot the eastern end of the runway by about 300 meters at approximately 21:10, coming to a stop in muddy, grassy terrain beyond the paved surface.
People onboard and injuries
The flight was carrying 51 passengers, four crew members, and one engineer.

The most serious injury was reported to be the 24-year-old co-pilot, Sushant Shrestha, who sustained head and facial injuries and remains hospitalized.

Six passengers suffered minor injuries and were treated and discharged.
Rescue response
Police said roughly 70 rescue personnel were deployed immediately, and all occupants were safely evacuated from the aircraft.
The flight had departed Kathmandu at 20:23.
Investigation underway
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine what caused the runway overrun.
