FlySafair, South Africa’s leading low-cost airline, is adding another route to the Kruger National Park region, expanding direct access to one of the country’s most iconic natural landmarks.

Cape Town to Kruger, Twice Over

The airline has announced that it will begin nonstop service between Cape Town (CPT) and Hoedspruit Airport (HDS) beginning October 2, 2025. Flights will operate three times weekly, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, using the carrier’s Boeing 737 aircraft.

This marks FlySafair’s second route from Cape Town to the Kruger region. The airline already operates flights between Cape Town and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (MQP) in Mbombela, which launched on April 2, 2024. A third route—from Johannesburg to Kruger—was introduced last August.

A Direct Route to the Bush

Hoedspruit Airport sits directly adjacent to central Kruger National Park, as well as several surrounding private game reserves, making it a prime entry point for safari-goers and tourists seeking an affordable, streamlined journey to South Africa’s northeast.

“Hoedspruit is a gateway to the Kruger National Park and surrounding private reserves, and we’re proud to offer travellers a more affordable and convenient way to reach this incredible region,” said Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair, in a statement to BusinessTech.

The new route is expected to strengthen tourism links between Cape Town and Limpopo province, offering greater accessibility to both international and domestic travelers looking to pair a city break with wildlife exploration.

Bottom Line

FlySafair is launching a new Cape Town–Hoedspruit route beginning October 2, 2025, operating three times weekly. The new service gives travelers a direct, low-cost connection to the heart of the Kruger National Park region, building on FlySafair’s growing network of park-access routes.
