Air Canada & Emirates Lock In Partnership Through 2032
Air Canada and Emirates are keeping their partnership in place through at least 2032. The renewed deal deepens a relationship that began in 2022 and promises smoother trips, stronger cargo links, and more useful loyalty perks on both sides.
What’s changing
Under the extension, the airlines will grow their shared network, add more coordinated cargo services, and expand how customers use points. Today the partnership already covers dozens of routes across Canada, the U.S., the Middle East, and Asia. Over the summer, Air Canada also added several domestic and U.S. links that feed into long-haul connections through Dubai.
Why it matters to travelers
For many Canadians, Dubai is the fastest path to family, business, and leisure destinations across the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The partnership keeps Toronto–Dubai as a reliable daily bridge and makes onward connections simpler: one ticket, through-checked bags, and coordinated help if plans change. In Dubai, Air Canada flights operate from Terminal 3, so connections to Emirates stay in the same terminal.
Loyalty benefits, now and next
Aeroplan and Skywards members can already earn and redeem across both networks. The airlines say they will extend redemptions to each other’s premium economy cabins, adding a middle option between coach and business class. Eligible Aeroplan customers also retain access to Emirates lounges in Dubai.
Cargo and trade
Beyond passengers, the carriers are tightening their cargo cooperation. Air Canada brings broad North American coverage; Emirates offers deep reach into markets across South Asia, the Gulf, and Southeast Asia. The result should be faster door-to-door options for shippers on both continents.
Looking ahead
Emirates plans a future shift from Dubai International to Al Maktoum International (Dubai World Central) after 2032. Keeping this partnership in place now helps both airlines plan for that move with minimal disruption.
Bottom Line
More shared routes, clearer perks, and tighter operations make this extension good news for travelers and shippers alike—especially anyone connecting between Canada and points beyond Dubai.
