In a move that highlights the growing demand for semi-private travel, Aero and JSX, two niche carriers known for offering premium travel experiences, have announced significant expansions to their route networks. Both airlines cater to travelers seeking a higher level of comfort and exclusivity than standard commercial flights. Their latest additions underscore the appeal of semi-private flying, particularly for high-end destinations like Las Vegas and luxury ski towns like Taos, New Mexico.

Aero’s New Service to Las Vegas

Aero, based out of Van Nuys, California (VNY), is known for flying small groups of passengers on Embraer E135 jets, with a capacity of just 16 passengers. The airline will launch its newest route between Van Nuys and Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), starting with a special “Jet In, Jet Out” flight on November 23, 2024, for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Regular service will follow on December 27, 2024, with flights operating twice a week on Fridays and Sundays.

Aero aims to provide a luxurious experience, with passengers flying out of private terminals (Fixed-Base Operators or FBOs), bypassing the crowds and long waits associated with major airports. According to CEO Ben Klein, the Las Vegas route draws inspiration from the “Golden Age of Hollywood” when stars would frequently fly between Los Angeles and Las Vegas for glamorous weekend getaways.

JSX Returns to Taos

Meanwhile, JSX is making a return to Taos, New Mexico (TSM), a popular destination for skiing and luxury travel. Starting in December 2024, JSX will offer flights to Dallas, Carlsbad, Austin, and Burbank from Taos. The service will operate four days a week, catering to travelers seeking seamless, upscale travel to one of the top ski destinations in the U.S.

JSX uses Embraer E-145 aircraft configured for just 30 passengers, emphasizing comfort, convenience, and private terminals. The carrier, which already serves Denver and Las Vegas from Taos, continues to enhance its network with an eye on seasonal, high-demand leisure markets.

The Growing Appeal of Semi-Private Travel

Both Aero and JSX have tapped into a growing trend of semi-private flights, providing an attractive middle ground between private jets and commercial airlines. These flights offer a higher degree of privacy, comfort, and convenience, particularly to destinations favored by luxury travelers. With premium services, such as dedicated private terminals, streamlined boarding processes, and spacious, personalized seating, Aero and JSX are capitalizing on the increasing desire for exclusive travel experiences.

The expansion of routes to Las Vegas and Taos highlights the growing popularity of semi-private travel for high-end leisure markets. Whether it’s a weekend getaway to the bright lights of Vegas or a ski vacation in the mountains of New Mexico, Aero and JSX are perfectly positioned to meet the needs of discerning travelers.

Bottom line

Aero and JSX continue to lead the way in semi-private air travel, offering passengers a more personalized and luxurious flying experience to top destinations like Las Vegas and Taos. This expansion reflects the airlines’ commitment to providing premium, hassle-free service to high-demand markets.
